Education
We have been involved in a number of education projects.
Currently we are focussed on the BSF Programme and are engaged in a major school project in East Anglia where our client is a County Council.
Schools projects have their own complexities. These include those associated with modern day design and construction. For example:
- Sustainability
- Environmental efficiency
- Access and egress
and also those that are key contributors to educational performance. For example:
- Acoustics
- Lighting
- Non-disruptive maintenance
- Ease of movement within the school
and planning and community issues e.g.
- Parking
- Set down and pick up
- DDA
- Traffic plans
Successful schools projects create centres for learning excellence that are valued and respected by communities. We have implemented and contributed to the development of the processes necessary to achieve this, particularly in the management of effective stakeholder liaison.
Typically stake holders will include:
- Local Community Groups
- Councillors
- Education specialists
- Teachers
- Parents and PTAs and
- Boards of Govenors
These parties all have interests in the projects and need to be involved in constructive dialogue and communication. Effective liaison ensures that this involvement occurs and that project time scales and plans stay on course.
